Every year, the Small Giants Community Hall of Fame recognizes leaders who embody what it truly means to build a purpose-driven business.
These are leaders who put people first and use values and purpose to steer their decision-making. They are leaders who believe business can be a force for good – not just through what they achieve, but through how they treat people along the way.
This year, we gathered during the 2026 Small Giants Summit in Detroit to celebrate a remarkable group of finalists and inductees whose leadership has made a lasting impact within their companies, communities, and the broader Small Giants network.
The Hall of Fame recognizes exemplary leaders in two categories: Founder/CEO Leaders and Next Gen Leaders. The awards are deeply rooted in community, as anyone can nominate a colleague, mentor, or business leader they believe exemplifies the spirit of a Small Giant. This year, a panel of past Hall of Fame inductees played a role in the selection process, adding another layer of meaning to the recognition.
Every finalist this year represented something special.
Across industries, roles, and backgrounds, each leader demonstrated a commitment to building organizations where people, culture, and purpose matter. While their leadership styles may differ, they all share a common belief that business success and human-centered leadership are not mutually exclusive.
The Next Gen Leader category celebrates emerging leaders who are shaping the future of purpose-driven business.
These leaders are often in the thick of the day-to-day work — leading teams, strengthening culture, solving problems, and helping organizations navigate growth and change. From the stories and shared experiences of colleagues and community members, they are making an extraordinary impact within their companies and communities.
They are the future of the Small Giants movement, and they give us hope and excitement for the generations of values-driven business to come.
This year’s Next Gen finalists are:
Each finalist brings a unique skillset and perspective on leadership, but all demonstrate the kind of empathy, courage, and commitment that defines the next generation of Small Giants leaders.
The Founder & CEO category honors leaders at the helm of their organizations.
These are the leaders responsible for setting the tone, protecting company culture, and ensuring that mission and values remain woven into the fabric of the business as it grows and evolves.
They are often the compass for their organizations — guiding not only strategy and operations, but also the deeper purpose behind the work.
This year’s Founder & CEO finalists are:
Each finalist demonstrated what it looks like to lead with humility, intentionality, and a long-term commitment to people-centered business practices.
The judges were given the tough job of selecting only one winner for each category. After careful discussion and deliberation, the winners were selected.
Without further ado…
Rane is also a graduate of the Small Giants Leadership Academy, and her leadership journey reflects the kind of growth, intentionality, and service-oriented mindset that the program strives to cultivate.
As one nominator shared:
“Rane is a thoughtful and service-driven leader who combines operational rigor with genuine care for people, consistently turning insight into practical actions that strengthen culture, retention, and client experience.”
That balance between operational excellence and human connection was a recurring theme throughout Rane’s award process.
When reflecting on the recognition, Rane shared that she initially felt shocked and humbled — especially knowing the leaders who previously received the award. Being recognized alongside past Next Gen winners Leslie DeMent and Sabrina White made the honor even more meaningful.
“I’ve taken it on as my role to carry on the Small Giants philosophies at Venturity,” Rane said. “And this award has affirmed the work I’m doing.”
Rane also spoke candidly about the realities of leadership, particularly the challenge of learning to exist within the often uncomfortable “middle” that leadership requires.
There is nuance in leadership. There are tensions to navigate, difficult conversations to have, and moments where there may not be a perfectly clear answer.
But throughout those challenges, Rane remains deeply committed to carrying out Venturity’s purpose while serving its people well.
Her reflections resonated strongly with attendees because they captured something many leaders experience: leadership is rarely about having all the answers. More often, it’s about showing up with humility, care, and the willingness to keep learning.
Rane’s recognition serves as a powerful reminder that the future of purpose-driven business is in very capable hands.
Their connection to the Small Giants Community runs deep.
Brad and Hai have participated in the Small Giants Journey program, supported several leaders through the Small Giants Leadership Academy, and hosted the Leadership Academy graduation experience at Text-Em-All for the past several years.
More importantly, they have consistently embodied the values that sit at the heart of the Small Giants philosophy.
As one testimonial shared:
“They embody everything that Small Giants stand for… they care deeply about people and don’t expect anything in return.”
Brad and Hai spoke about the cyclical nature of the award and the role the Small Giants Community played in shaping their leadership journey.
When they were first building Text-Em-All, the Small Giants Community provided both inspiration and practical guidance. Through relationships with fellow leaders, they learned lessons that would ultimately shape the culture and values of their own organization.
“We wouldn’t be where we are without Small Giants,” Hai shared. “Not just the content, but the people.”
Hai specifically reflected on the impact of leaders like Tom Walter, founder of Tasty Catering and a 2024 Hall of Fame inductee, whose example helped shape how they approached leadership and company culture.
“To be recognized by the companies that we’ve looked up to is a really big deal,” he said.
That sense of peer recognition is part of what makes the Hall of Fame so meaningful.
Many companies represented within the Small Giants Community aren’t chasing headlines, flashy acquisitions, or rapid-growth-at-all-costs narratives. Instead, they are quietly building healthy organizations rooted in trust, care, sustainability, and long-term impact.
As Brad put it, those kinds of businesses don’t always receive the same level of public attention.
“This is a unique way for companies to get attention that don’t normally get attention,” he said.
That sentiment captures an important truth about the Small Giants Community itself.
The leaders celebrated here may not always appear on magazine covers or trend across social media. But they are creating workplaces where people thrive. They are strengthening their communities. They are proving that purpose and profitability can coexist.
And they are helping redefine what meaningful business success looks like, both for themselves and for the leaders that will follow in their footsteps.
As co-founder of the Small Giants Community, Paul has spent years helping shape and grow a movement centered around purposeful leadership, healthy cultures, and values-driven business practices.
His impact can be felt not only through the programs and events he helped build, but through the countless leaders he has encouraged, mentored, and inspired along the way.
We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and vision Paul has poured into the Small Giants Community over the years, and we are excited to see what he builds next through his new venture, Kintsugi Village.
At its core, the Hall of Fame exists to shine a light on a different way of doing business.
In a world that often prioritizes scale above all else, the Small Giants Community continues to celebrate leaders who prioritize people, purpose, and meaningful impact.
The Hall of Fame reminds us that great leadership is not measured solely by revenue or growth charts. It’s measured by the cultures leaders create, the trust they build, the opportunities they provide, and the ways they help people flourish.
Perhaps most importantly, the Hall of Fame reminds us that none of this work happens alone.
The Small Giants Community continues to exist because of like-hearted leaders that have a desire to learn from one another, support one another, and celebrate one another.
The Hall of Fame ceremony is not simply about individual recognition – it’s about reinforcing the values that connect this entire community.
As we celebrate this year’s Hall of Fame inductees, we’re also excited about what comes next.
In 2027, the Small Giants Community plans to expand the Hall of Fame with additional awards and recognition opportunities so that even more purpose-driven businesses and leaders can be celebrated.
Because there are so many remarkable leaders quietly doing extraordinary work.
And those stories deserve to be told.
To this year’s finalists, winners, judges, and everyone who continues to champion purpose-driven leadership within the Small Giants Community, thank you.
Thank you for showing what leadership can look like when it is rooted in humanity, generosity, courage, and care.
Congratulations again to Rane Butler, Brad Herrmann, Hai Nguyen, and Paul Spiegelman. We’re honored to celebrate your impact, and inspired by the example you continue to set for the entire Small Giants Community.
Nominations for the 2027 Hall of Fame awards will open in the fall.
